Finding Your Run
Welcome back, my loves!
In the last week, I've had a bit of an optimistic shift as the weather finally broke here in western Pennsylvania!
(Until today — when it was 35 degrees this morning and I found myself writing this instead.)
The sun is rising earlier now, and the temperature is finally more comfortable for the first time in what seems like forever.
I’ve been able to get outside for morning runs around 6 AM — before enduring a long day of teaching.
And these runs... have been life-changing.
There’s something liberating about running outside in the crisp, fresh air while the neighborhood is still relatively quiet and half asleep.
I have the calm streets all to myself, my favorite music playing, and it feels like the world is gifting me a fresh start before the chaos begins.
What’s crazy, though... I used to hate running. DESPISE it.
I couldn't breathe. I got tired quickly. I wasn’t good at it.
But now? Now it’s my escape. My energy. My reset button. My peace.
It’s rejuvenating, refreshing, and somehow... healing.
It reminds me that even when life feels heavy, relentless, and demanding, I have the power to create my own space —
a space that sets my soul free, even just for a little while.
And that's what I want for you too.
You don’t have to run.
You just need to find your version of it.
Maybe it’s yoga at sunrise.
Maybe it’s painting in the quiet of your home, dancing barefoot in your living room, getting lost in a good book, lifting weights, baking, hiking —
whatever sets your soul free for a little while.
Find the thing that reminds you how alive you really are.
Find the thing that helps you escape the frustration, the monotony, and the endless expectations.
Find the thing that’s just for you — the thing that turns the volume down on the world and turns the light back on inside you.
Life can be exhausting. Work can be draining.
But your soul doesn’t have to stay stuck there.
Find what makes your soul come alive.
Find your “run.”
You’re not broken.
You're just waiting to be recharged.
Much love,
xoxo
